The UAE has emphasized that resolving the humanitarian crisis and alleviating the plight of the Palestinian people require a comprehensive strategic approach aimed at ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This strategy must halt the cycle of violence, hatred, and extremism, and support the two-state solution leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state. This state should meet the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for a dignified and secure life.

In a statement issued on Tuesday at the end of an international conference on emergency humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, hosted at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea region of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the UAE highlighted the urgent need for a capable and transparent government composed of independent experts. This government should operate with integrity and in line with international standards to gain the trust and cooperation of the international community.

The conference took place during the ongoing Israeli conflict that has devastated the Gaza Strip for eight months, resulting in the deaths of over 36,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, and injuries to around 80,000 Palestinians. Additionally, it has caused the displacement of more than 78% of Gaza's population, the collapse of the healthcare system, increased the threat of famine, and accelerated the spread of diseases. The UAE, holding Israel accountable for this catastrophe, calls for an immediate halt to all military operations, full adherence to relevant Security Council resolutions, compliance with the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) decisions, and the uninterrupted and sustainable provision of urgent humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza.

Since the beginning of this crisis, the UAE has steadfastly focused on several key priorities: immediate ceasefire and protection of civilian lives in accordance with international law and humanitarian law; safe, urgent, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza without hindrance; rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land; and enhancement of diplomatic efforts to end the war and establish a clear and binding roadmap for the formation of an independent Palestinian state, living in peace, prosperity, and security alongside Israel.
