The UAE has vehemently denounced the incursion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by an Israeli minister and settlers, shielded by Israeli police, emphasizing the imperative for Israel to adhere to the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and refrain from any interference. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, reaffirmed the UAE's steadfast stance on the absolute necessity to safeguard Al-Aqsa Mosque and halt any grave and provocative acts within its premises. The UAE also underscored the significance of honoring the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's stewardship over the holy sites and endowments in line with international law and the established historical status quo, and not to encroach upon the jurisdiction of the Jerusalem Endowments Administration and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs. The Ministry further expressed the UAE's unwavering solidarity and support for Jordan and all measures it undertakes to protect the holy sites. The Ministry urged the Israeli authorities to cease escalation and avoid actions that intensify tension and instability in the region, reiterating the UAE's opposition to all practices that contravene international legitimacy resolutions and risk further escalation. The Ministry appealed to the international community to bolster all regional and international endeavors to establish a serious political horizon that fosters comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, and realizes the hopes and aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish an independent and sovereign state, in accordance with pertinent international legitimacy resolutions.
