The United Arab Emirates has delivered three tonnes of medical supplies and a range of medications to bolster the healthcare sector and hospitals that remain functional in the Gaza Strip, in the aftermath of recent events in Khan Younis.
This aid follows urgent requests from the healthcare sector concerning a scarcity of medicines, with Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis being among those affected. The UAE's contribution of medical supplies is crucial for sustaining medical services for the wounded, patients, and all displaced individuals.
The medical assistance includes essential supplies for hospitals experiencing shortages, medications for various injuries, insulin doses for diabetic patients, and various solutions to support the healthcare sector during this critical period. The UAE, in collaboration with various hospitals and international medical organizations, is committed to improving the healthcare conditions in the Gaza Strip, which have worsened due to the ongoing conflict.
The conflict has led to the closure of numerous hospitals due to damage and a lack of adequate medicines and medical supplies, disrupting efforts to provide medical services to patients and the injured across different areas of the Gaza Strip. The UAE has extended a series of medical support to hospitals in the region, including 10 ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The total aid provided by the country amounts to 337 tonnes, comprising medical equipment, medicines, and essential supplies for the Ministry of Health to enhance the capacity of medical care institutions and hospitals.
