The Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) has recently announced the election of the UAE, represented by the UAE Accountability Authority, to the ASOSAI Governing Board for the 2024-2027 term. This significant decision was reached during the 16th ASOSAI Assembly held in New Delhi, India, under the chairmanship of the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India.
A UAE delegation, headed by Humaid Obaid Abu Shabas, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority, actively participated in the assembly. The event primarily aimed at fostering collaboration among Asian countries in the oversight of public finance and auditing, within the broader context of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
In addition to the main proceedings, the UAE delegation engaged in bilateral meetings with representatives from other participating nations to further strengthen cooperation in the areas of auditing and financial supervision.
