The fifth session of the UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee convened in Abu Dhabi, resulting in the signing of eight MoUs and executive programmes between the two nations. The session was chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, with Kuwait's delegation led by Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Yahya, Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The agreements included an MoU on infrastructure cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait, signed by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. Another MoU focused on standardisation activities, signed by Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister. Additionally, an MoU on telecommunications and information technology was signed by the same officials.

The session also saw the signing of an Executive Programme for Educational Cooperation for the years 2024–2027 by Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of Education, and Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. A similar programme was established for sports cooperation for 2024–2026, signed by Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister. A cultural cooperation programme for 2024–2026 was signed by Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, and Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya.

Further agreements included an MoU on cybersecurity between the UAE Cybersecurity Council and Kuwait's Cyber Security Centre, signed by Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti and Major General Engineer Mohammed Abdulaziz Bouarki. An MoU on defence procurement and industries was signed between the UAE Ministry of Defence, represented by EDGE Group Holding, and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence, by Hamad Mohammed Al Marar and Major General Faisal Khalifa Saif.

In his opening speech, Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the strong bonds between the UAE and Kuwait, rooted in the legacy of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his counterparts in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by several ministers and senior officials from both countries.

Additionally, the UAE President met with the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister to discuss enhancing cooperation and collaboration in various fields to fulfill the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity.
