The UAE government, in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF), has introduced a digital platform for knowledge sharing to bolster the objectives of the We the UAE 2031 national vision. This initiative employs an advanced AI-driven strategic design model. The 'We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence' platform aggregates insights from over 450 global sources and 2,500 experts. Its primary function is to equip UAE policymakers, strategists, and government leaders with the necessary information to implement the national plan, positioning the UAE as a key global partner and a prominent economic hub.
The launch of the We the UAE for Strategic Intelligence 2031 was marked at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils, attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and co-chair of the Global Future Councils, and Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of WEF. This launch is a product of a strategic knowledge collaboration between the UAE government and WEF, formalized during the 2024 WEF annual meeting in Davos in January.
Huda Al Hashimi, deputy minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, highlighted the platform's importance for the government, stating it will empower decision-makers to realize national visions. 'By consolidating vast amounts of knowledge and expertise into one digital space, the platform will facilitate the creation of effective government strategies and policies,' she said.
Olivier Schwab, managing director of WEF, underscored the significance of technology in government operations: 'By embedding strategic intelligence into the We the UAE 2031 vision, the UAE demonstrates how advanced intelligence and forward-thinking can elevate government capabilities.' The platform is set to support the UAE Government's ongoing development initiatives, reinforcing its global leadership in addressing and implementing solutions to global challenges.
The platform covers over 70 global policy topics crucial to the UAE, drawing content from a variety of reports, academic articles, and expert analyses, including those from WEF’s partner network. It also includes datasets to aid in policymaking. Beyond providing knowledge, the platform serves as a forum for government leaders to share ideas and initiatives, promoting a more collaborative approach to public sector strategy.
The Global Future Councils, a network of thought leaders from academia, government, international organizations, business, and civil society, convened at the AMGFC24. This gathering of 500 experts, thought leaders, and futurists from 80 countries across 30 councils explored future opportunities in five critical areas: technology and artificial intelligence, environment and climate, governance, economy and finance, and society.
