A recent report from Coherent Market Insights reveals the expected expansion of the UAE MICE market, which is projected to increase from $5.65 billion in 2024 to $10.01 billion by 2031. This significant growth is driven by swift infrastructure advancements, cutting-edge facilities, and strategic measures that aim to establish the UAE as a leading global MICE hub. InterContinental Dubai Festival City's recent investments in upgrading its event spaces reflect its dedication to fulfilling the growing needs of this dynamic industry.

In response to the escalating demand, InterContinental Dubai Festival City has unveiled substantial upgrades to its top-tier event venues, now unified under the new brand 'Events by InterContinental'. This integration of The Event Centre at InterContinental Dubai Festival City and Festival Arena by InterContinental aims to create a premier event destination, strengthening its role as a major player in the regional Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

"We are excited to launch Events by InterContinental Dubai Festival City, meticulously designed to provide an outstanding setting for events of all sizes and types. Strategically situated near Dubai International Airport, Dubai International Financial Centre, and Downtown Dubai, the venue ensures easy access for both local and international attendees," stated Thomas Schmelter, Area General Manager of IHG Hotels at Dubai Festival City. "By merging our two leading venues and enhancing the ballrooms at The Event Centre with advanced design and technology, we are establishing a new standard for event hosting in the region, offering flexible, contemporary facilities and exceptional service."

Events by InterContinental Dubai Festival City boasts a total of 15,000 sq.m of event space. This includes a 7,200 sq.m pillarless space at Festival Arena, perfect for conventions, exhibitions, and concerts accommodating up to 9000 people; a 5,000 sq.m Event Centre with a waterfront setting featuring ballrooms, meeting rooms, and a promenade showcasing the iconic Dubai Skyline; and a 1,150 sq.m venue at Holiday Inn & Suites, catering to various budget needs. These spaces together offer a complete solution for all event types.

The newly upgraded ballrooms at The Event Centre will feature the largest LED screen in the region and a high-lumen projector (16.5k). These redesigned ballrooms are versatile, serving from large conferences to small meetings, all conveniently located within InterContinental Dubai Festival City, with direct access to Crowne Plaza and Dubai Festival City Mall.

"As the UAE continues to cement its position as a global MICE industry hub, we are committed to supporting this forward-looking trajectory through ongoing innovation and excellence in event hosting. The enhancement of our ballrooms is a testament to our commitment to meeting the changing demands of our corporate clients and contributing to the UAE's ambitious growth in the MICE sector," concluded Pranav Vohra, Cluster Commercial Director of IHG Hotels at Dubai Festival City.
