Earlier today, the UAE's mission in Kerala advised citizens in India to remain cautious due to the severe rainfall in the northern part of the state. Local media reports indicate that over 70 people perished in landslides in Wayanad, Kerala. Official mourning has been announced in the state for today and tomorrow. Approximately 116 individuals were injured. The rescue operations faced significant challenges after a major bridge collapsed in the area. Army engineers were enlisted to construct an alternative bridge, as stated by the chief minister's office. The rescue efforts were further complicated by the lack of internet connectivity in the region.
