The Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) announced that discounted flight tickets will be available for illegal residents who take advantage of the UAE visa amnesty and choose to depart the country.

Maj-Gen Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, the deputy director-general of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai, has confirmed to Khaleej Times that they have coordinated with UAE airlines, including Emirates, Etihad, and Air Arabia, to offer reduced airfare to individuals wishing to leave but facing financial difficulties.

The amnesty program, which will be in effect for two months from September 1 to October 30, 2024, encompasses all visa types, such as tourist and expired residency visas. Individuals born without documentation or those who have absconded from their sponsors are also eligible to benefit from the amnesty. However, those who entered the country illegally are ineligible to apply for this amnesty.
