The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has clarified that only three operators in the UAE are authorized to conduct lottery and related activities within the country. The sole lottery operation licence in the UAE has been awarded to The Game, LLC, which operates under the name The UAE Lottery. This is the only lottery license that falls under the regulatory framework set by the GCGRA.
Furthermore, the law allows for certain pre-existing lottery activities to continue. Within this context, only Big Ticket and Dubai Duty Free - airport lotteries, which have been in operation for about 30 years, are permitted to continue their operations under the oversight of the GCGRA. All other pre-existing lotteries will not be eligible for continued operation, and the GCGRA has mandated their closure.
