Today, the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, awarded the Order of Zayed to Joko Widodo, the President of Indonesia, in recognition of his efforts to bolster the strong ties and enhance bilateral cooperation between the two nations during his tenure. This prestigious civilian honor, the highest granted by the UAE and typically bestowed upon global leaders and heads of state, was presented at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi during President Widodo's official visit to the UAE.

Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that the bestowal of the Order of Zayed upon Joko Widodo underscores the high regard and appreciation for his contributions to advancing UAE-Indonesian relations. He also extended his best wishes for President Widodo's health and the continued prosperity of the Indonesian people. President Widodo expressed his gratitude to the UAE President and his pride in receiving the award, which symbolizes the exceptional relationship between the two countries and honors the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed, a globally revered figure known for his enduring humanitarian values.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed presented the Order of the Union to Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, in acknowledgment of his dedicated efforts to strengthen the strategic ties between the UAE and Indonesia. Minister Pandjaitan expressed his thanks for the recognition and wished for the ongoing advancement of relations between the two countries.
