UAE President Sheikh Mohamed met with Félix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), on Friday. President Tshisekedi is currently on a working visit to the UAE. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation and collaboration across various sectors, with the ultimate goal of fostering development and prosperity in both nations.

The discussion took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed warmly welcomed President Tshisekedi and expressed optimism that the visit would bolster the relationship between the two countries, ultimately benefiting their respective populations. He also extended his best wishes for enduring peace, prosperity, and growth to the DRC and its people.

The two leaders delved into potential areas for expanded cooperation, focusing particularly on development, the economy, trade and investment, renewable energy, and other critical sectors that contribute to the sustainable development of both countries. They also addressed several matters of mutual concern and shared perspectives on recent regional and international developments.

Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's dedication to strengthening its cooperation with African nations, emphasizing mutual interests and the promotion of development, stability, and prosperity across the continent for the greater good. President Félix Tshisekedi expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed, praising the UAE's collaborative efforts with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its humanitarian and developmental projects in Africa, as well as its global efforts to support communities affected by crises.
