President Sheikh Mohamed conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday his readiness to support initiatives aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine. This conversation occurred during Putin's reception of the UAE President at the Kremlin, marking Sheikh Mohamed's official visit to the Russian Federation.

"We are actively working to facilitate the exchange of prisoners," Sheikh Mohamed informed Putin, through an interpreter. "I assure you that we will persist in this endeavor. We stand ready to contribute in any way to resolve conflicts and promote peace, in the best interests of both parties." Putin expressed gratitude for the UAE's recent successful efforts in mediating prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine.

In return, the UAE President expressed his thanks to the Russian government for its cooperation, highlighting that this collaboration was crucial to the initiative's success. He reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to continuing its efforts in this significant humanitarian mission. Previously, Putin had commended both Sheikh Mohamed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their mediation efforts regarding Ukraine.

During their meeting, the leaders also discussed the BRICS Summit and the group's role in fostering collective efforts to attain shared global goals. Sheikh Mohamed also praised Putin's leadership during the current session of BRICS. Both leaders reviewed the situation in the Middle East, with the UAE President emphasizing the importance of preventing further escalation of regional conflicts. Sheikh Mohamed advocated for a clear political path to achieve a just, enduring, and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

The two leaders also assessed the progress in UAE-Russian relations over recent years, particularly in areas such as economy, trade, investment, space, and energy. Both reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing these relations at all levels.
