Vishnu Param, an Indian expatriate living in JLT, shared, 'We've set up a screen at our home and invited around twenty friends. India is the favorite, and it promises to be an evening packed with cricket, food, and excitement.' The rivalry between India and Pakistan in cricket is one of the fiercest in sports, with each match transcending the sport to unite millions worldwide.
Similarly, Amjad Khan, a Pakistani resident in Al Mahatta, Sharjah, is hosting a family gathering. 'We've prepared a special menu with all our favorite snacks. It's more than just a game; it's a celebration when these two nations play,' Khan noted. Local cafes and restaurants are also gearing up for the event, setting up special viewing areas to cater to the anticipated crowds.
Awais Mohammed, an engineer at a private firm, mentioned that he and his friends, both Indian and Pakistani, have booked a table for eight at a cafe in Oud Metha to watch the match. 'We've been anticipating this game since the last time the teams met. There are four Indians and four Pakistanis in our group, and if Pakistan wins, it will be a celebration before Eid Al Adha,' said Mohammed, a resident of Al Nahda, Sharjah.
