As UAE residents and citizens made their way to the nearest mosques to participate in the special rain prayers held today at 11am, UAE royals also joined in the prayer. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, performed the Salat Al Istisqa this morning at the Haji Mihail Al Kaabi Mosque in Masfout City. This act followed the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who instituted the prayer to request rain, and was in response to the call by President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to hold the prayer in all mosques nationwide.
Accompanying him were several sheikhs, senior officials, and citizens and residents from Arab and Islamic communities who also performed the prayer. Watch the video below:
In his sermon, Sheikh Juma Saeed Al Kaabi, the Imam and preacher for the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Ajman, who led the prayer, underscored the importance of water. He emphasized that water is the lifeblood of all things, the foundation of all living beings, and a divine blessing that we are commanded to preserve and be thankful for. He cautioned against undervaluing, wasting, or misusing it. The Imam and worshippers raised their hands in supplication to Allah, praying for rain as a mercy for all beings, hoping it would be a beneficial and nourishing rain that revitalizes the land without causing harm.
