The UAE has been ranked fifth in the world for road quality and tenth for public transport in the Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024 report, as per the World Economic Forum. Among Arab nations, the UAE is placed first for road quality and second for the efficiency of public transport services. Additionally, the UAE ranks ninth globally and first among Arab countries for the efficiency of port services.
Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized that these results are a testament to the UAE's long-term strategic plans, fueled by the forward-looking vision of wise leadership. He further expressed the country's ambition to be recognized as a global hub for innovation and excellence.
Hanan Mansour Ahli, the Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, highlighted that the report underscores the UAE's well-developed infrastructure and its adherence to the highest standards and best practices, making it a benchmark for road quality, public transport services, and port services. These achievements are expected to attract foreign investments and boost the GDP.
