The procedure for terminating a worker's employment permit in the UAE has been drastically shortened to just 45 seconds, down from the previous 3 minutes, and now requires no documents. This enhanced and simplified cancellation process for worker services is a result of the launch of the second phase of the Work Bundle platform. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) announced on Monday (July 8) the service upgrade to offer customers a seamless experience with hassle-free procedures.
Here's how Mohre is consolidating all cancellation types into a single unified bundle: Reducing document requests from two to none, enabling automatic approval, minimizing the number of fields from seven to only two, and shortening processing time from three minutes to just 45 seconds. Several government ministries and federal authorities have collaborated to launch a platform that simplifies the hiring of new employees for business owners and private companies, as well as the pre-renewal of work permits for existing employees.
The first phase was initially rolled out in Dubai in March and is now being implemented across all seven emirates. The second phase of Work Bundle will encompass approximately 600,000 companies and over seven million workers. Previously, the time required to process documents for obtaining work permits and residency visas was reduced from 30 days to five days throughout the UAE.
Services under Work Bundle consolidate eight work and residency procedures into one platform, avoiding duplication and simplifying services for onboarding new employees, such as issuing a new work permit, requesting a status adjustment, issuing a visa and employment contract, and providing Emirates ID, residency, and medical examination services. Work Bundle services also streamline the renewal of a worker’s employment contract, Emirates ID and residency renewal, medical examination services, and the cancellation of a worker’s employment contract, work permit, and residency.
