The UAE has announced a new government initiative aimed at simplifying home loan applications for Emiratis. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stated that the government will streamline and minimize the application process. Instead of dealing with 11 different entities, applicants will now interact with just one. The number of required documents for approval has also been significantly reduced from 10 to 2, as announced by Sheikh Mohammed. Additionally, the UAE Vice-President confirmed the allocation of housing support amounting to Dh1.68 billion under the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, which will fund 2,160 new homes for citizens. This initiative is part of the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, designed to eliminate unnecessary procedures and requirements. In line with this, the government has targeted the reduction of at least 2,000 procedures within a year and aims to halve processing times in six months. Furthermore, the second phase of the Work Bundle platform was launched, reducing the time needed to process work permits and residency visas from 30 days to just five days across the UAE.
