The UAE has vehemently denounced the shooting that occurred in the courtyard of a mosque in Wadi Kabir, Oman, resulting in fatalities and injuries among several innocent individuals on Tuesday.

According to the Sultanate's police, nine individuals were killed in the shooting near a mosque in Muscat, Oman's capital, including one police officer and three gunmen. The incident also left 28 others injured, four of whom were police officers, all of whom were promptly taken to medical facilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its support for all measures taken by Oman to safeguard its security and stability. In an official statement, the UAE strongly condemned these acts of crime and reiterated its steadfast opposition to all forms of violence that threaten security and stability and jeopardize the lives of citizens, in violation of international law.

The UAE also conveyed its heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the government and people of Oman, as well as to the families of the victims of this despicable act. It extended wishes for a swift recovery to all those injured.

Among the deceased were one Indian man and four Pakistanis, whose deaths were confirmed by the Foreign Ministry of Oman to their respective embassies.
