As residents across the UAE savor their extended weekend during the National Day holidays, the weather appears to be accommodating as it transitions into the cooler season with reduced temperatures and the possibility of rain in certain parts of the country today.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, low clouds are expected to form over scattered areas of the country, with a chance of light rainfall on Sunday. The weather today will generally be partly cloudy, with moderate to fresh winds blowing, occasionally strong, particularly over the sea, leading to dusty conditions on land.
The NCM has issued orange and yellow alerts for rough seas, with conditions anticipated to be very rough to rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough at times in the Oman Sea. Residents have been cautioned about hazardous conditions near the sea and advised to follow instructions from authorities. They have also been urged to stay vigilant during outdoor activities in these coastal areas.
The meteorological center also issued an advisory, warning residents against swimming or diving in the sea due to the rough conditions and advising against going to the sea or participating in any marine activities. The authority also encouraged people to stay updated with official NCM reports and avoid spreading any rumors.
Temperatures today are forecasted to dip to a low of 9°C in mountainous regions and rise to a high of 25°C in internal areas. Humidity levels are expected to drop to 15 per cent in mountainous areas and climb to 85 per cent in internal and coastal regions of the UAE.
