According to a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), residents in certain regions of the UAE can anticipate periods of rain in the upcoming days. From Monday, August 19, to Friday, August 23, the weather is predicted to be partly cloudy to cloudy across most parts of the country, with a likelihood of rainfall in the eastern and southern areas.
Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally fresh, blowing from the southeast to northeast at speeds up to 40kmph, causing dust and sand storms. These windy conditions will reduce horizontal visibility, prompting residents to be cautious, particularly while driving. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will experience slight to moderate waves, which may become rough at times.
Over the last four days, the weather has been partly cloudy and dusty, with scattered showers in some parts of the country. Today, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, especially in some southern and eastern areas, with a possibility of rain on the east coast due to the presence of low clouds.
Temperatures will drop to 26°C in the mountainous regions and 27°C in inland areas today. Meanwhile, they will peak at 47°C in inland areas. Humidity levels can dip to 15 per cent in the mountains and are expected to reach 85 per cent in coastal areas and islands.
