According to the National Centre of Meteorology, residents in most regions of the UAE should anticipate increased rainfall and a decrease in temperatures today. Areas such as Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, and Khor Fakkan have experienced significant rain, hail, and thunder. Some wadis overflowed, prompting an orange alert for thunderstorms yesterday. Early Wednesday morning, moderate to heavy rains affected parts of Fujairah, which Storm Centre documented in a social media video.
The NCM predicts that today's weather will range from fair to partly cloudy and occasionally cloudy, especially in the eastern and southern areas, with a chance of rain. Light to moderate winds are expected, occasionally strong, causing dust storms. The sea conditions will be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Temperatures are forecast to drop to as low as 21°C in some areas and rise to 46°C in inland regions of the UAE.
The rainy conditions are expected to persist until Thursday, August 8, influenced by the extension of the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and its movement towards the UAE from the south and upper-level pressure systems from the east, accompanied by cloud movement towards the country.
