The United Arab Emirates has expressed its support for the ceasefire declaration between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, specifically in the North Kivu region, located in the eastern part of the DR Congo.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE's Minister of State, underscored the enduring historical connections between the UAE and Africa, and praised the efforts of Angola and the African Union in facilitating this agreement. He emphasized the significance of this move in fostering security, stability, and prosperity in the area.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan also stressed the importance of maintaining a lasting ceasefire to ensure benefits for all parties involved, and reiterated the need for a diplomatic resolution through dialogue to construct trust and ensure enduring peace, thereby fulfilling the hopes for stability and prosperity among the people of both African nations.
