Ubisoft has addressed a significant Assassin's Creed leak that disclosed the initial details about Animus Hub, the new moniker for the previously codenamed Infinity project. In a Reddit post, Ubisoft clarified that "inaccurate rumors" were circulating online, prompting the company to provide some clarity. Firstly, Ubisoft confirmed that all rewards within the Animus Hub are "entirely free." Furthermore, there will be no paid subscriptions or battle passes in the Animus Hub. The company also mentioned that it plans to regularly add "content and missions" to the Animus Hub at no additional cost. More information is expected closer to the launch. This Reddit post marked the first official acknowledgment by Ubisoft of the real name for codename Infinity, although a developer had previously mentioned it in a media interview in June. The leak unveiled that players will have the ability to unlock various cosmetics for their characters and weapons. As previously reported, these cosmetics include futuristic weapon skins and armor, alongside mythological mounts and resources that players can utilize within the game. One of the leaked images also showcased co-protagonist Yasuke standing inside the Animus Hub. Initially slated for an October release, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been postponed to February 14, 2025, to allow the developers more time to refine the game. In related news, Assassin's Creed boss Marc-Alexis Coté recently discussed the modern-day aspect of the Assassin's Creed games, highlighting Ubisoft's intention to introduce a fresh direction for the storylines set in contemporary times.
