Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is set to embark on a trip to three African nations this week, aiming to garner backing for Kyiv's stance in its conflict with Russia, according to a statement from his ministry on Sunday.
Kuleba, who is making his fourth African diplomatic journey in the past two years, will be visiting Malawi, Zambia, and Mauritius from August 4th to 8th. The ministry outlined that all engagements will concentrate on fostering bilateral ties grounded in mutual respect and interests. Key discussion points will include the role of African countries in worldwide endeavors to achieve a fair peace for Ukraine and the global community.
Several African nations participated in a Ukraine-focused conference held in Switzerland in June, yet most have been hesitant to align with Western initiatives aimed at isolating Russia, a significant provider of energy and commodities. The ministry also mentioned that Kuleba will address the provision of Ukrainian grain to the region and the involvement of African businesses in the rebuilding of Ukraine during his visit.
