The highly anticipated Uncharted movie, featuring Tom Holland, will no longer hit theaters on July 16, 2021, as reported by Deadline. Instead, the film is now slated for a February 11, 2022 release. Another major film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, has also faced a delay, shifting from its original June 11, 2021 date to November 11, 2021.

The Uncharted movie, which wrapped up filming in 2020 after over a decade in development, stars Holland, known for his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Disney and Marvel's MCU films, as the iconic PlayStation character Nathan Drake. Mark Wahlberg joins him as Victor Sullivan, a mentor and father figure to the treasure-hunting hero. Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy) also play significant roles in the film, which is based on Naughty Dog's acclaimed action game series. Ruben Fleischer, known for directing Venom, is at the helm.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife, on the other hand, is positioned as a sequel to the original '80s films. Starring Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), the film follows Trevor, played by Wolfhard, and Phoebe, played by Captain Marvel's McKenna Grace, who are the grandchildren of one of the original Ghostbusters. The duo moves to a farm with their mother, where, unsurprisingly, supernatural events unfold. Directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ghostbusters' director Ivan Reitman, the film promises to bring back the nostalgic charm of the original series.

In other news, another Naughty Dog game, The Last of Us, is currently being adapted for television. HBO is developing the series, and despite losing its original director, Johan Renck (Chernobyl), it was recently announced that Kantemir Balagov will take over. Balagov, known for his acclaimed film Beanpole, which received praise at the Cannes Film Festival, will direct the series. Executive producer Craig Mazin and creative director of The Last of Us games Neil Druckmann are collaborating on the script.
