The PS5 DualSense controller has many appealing features, but one significant drawback is its lack of Hall Effect joysticks. This means that over time, the controller can—and often does—experience joystick drift, which is far from ideal for a $75 gamepad. Fortunately, Hyperkin has recently introduced a PS5 Hall Effect Joystick Replacement Kit, enabling you to swap out both sticks for just $16. These replacement kits have become incredibly popular (Amazon is currently out of stock), but you can still place orders and wait for inventory to be replenished.

Hyperkin's replacement joysticks are rated for 5 million rotations, and thanks to the Hall Effect sensors, they won't drift over time like the DualSense's original sticks. At just $16, these replacements are a much smarter investment than purchasing a new controller—provided you have the technical skills to install them. If you prefer not to wait for Hyperkin's kit to restock, another option is the AKNES GuliKit TMR Electromagnetic Joystick Replacement Kit, which is currently available for $18. This kit is offered in both PS5 and Xbox Series X versions and, like Hyperkin's Hall Effect sticks, requires soldering and careful installation. TMR Electromagnetic joysticks are similar to Hall Effect sticks but are generally more sensitive and often considered to have a slight edge over Hall Effect technology. Either option is a significant improvement over analog joysticks.

If you're in the market for a new DualSense controller, several color options are currently on sale, including Midnight Black for just $54 (down from $75). Check out the best DualSense deals below.
