Verizon Fios internet outages have affected millions of customers along the East Coast, causing substantial disruptions in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A map of user-reported issues indicates that the affected area spans approximately 300 miles from Philadelphia to Richmond, Virginia, according to the third-party website Downdetector, which monitors real-time service disruptions.
Outage.Report also noted a significant number of outage reports for Verizon Fios. "During the incident, we received reports from Washington, Lewes, Miami, LaGrange, Baltimore, Silver Spring, Raleigh, Cherry Hill, Maple Shade, Sewell, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Ashburn, Fairfax, Falls Church, Henrico County, Norfolk, and 16 other cities," Outage.Report stated.
"There is either an outage or network maintenance impacting your area. We don’t have full details just yet. Our apologies for any inconvenience this is causing," Verizon responded to a user on X inquiring about the outages.
"We’re trying to get all the information from our network team so we can provide you all an update."
An X user in Maryland shared an update from Verizon indicating that repairs commenced at 10:50 p.m. EST on Monday, with service expected to be restored by 10:58 a.m. EST on Tuesday.
