Film producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik are collaborating on Mahavatar, a project that will star Vicky Kaushal as the legendary warrior sage Chiranjeevi Parashurama. Inspired by Indian mythology, the film is set to hit theaters on Christmas 2026.
Building on the success of their previous joint venture, Stree 2, Vijan and Kaushik have once again joined forces for a much-awaited venture that explores the rich ancient mythology of India. Mahavatar will depict the tale of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of the seven immortal figures in Hindu lore.
The announcement of Mahavatar follows Kaushal's recent successes in films like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and his upcoming movie Chhaava, which is based on the life of Maratha King Sambhaji Maharaj. The first look for Mahavatar was unveiled on November 13, featuring a compelling poster that highlights Kaushal in his role.
In his post, Kaushal expressed, "Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas - Christmas 2026!"
