In a surprising announcement that has stunned his fans and the film industry, actor Vikrant Massey has revealed his intention to retire from acting after 2025. The 37-year-old actor, celebrated for his roles in '12th Fail', 'The Sabarmati Report', and 'Sector 36', shared this unexpected news via an emotional post on his Instagram account on Monday morning.

"The past few years and beyond have been extraordinary. I am deeply grateful to all of you for your unwavering support. However, as I progress, I feel it's time to reassess and return home. As a husband, father, son, and actor," Vikrant wrote, leaving many puzzled about his decision to leave the spotlight.

Vikrant's decision to retire comes at a time when his career is flourishing. His latest film, 'The Sabarmati Report', has been receiving accolades since its release. During a recent media interaction at the closing ceremony of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Vikrant discussed his approach to his work.

"I always strive to act responsibly. Whether it's '12th Fail', 'Sector 36', or 'The Sabarmati Report', there's always an effort to entertain while contributing to meaningful cinema," he said. He also highlighted his interest in both entertaining and inspiring films, emphasizing the impact of cinema on society.

"Cinema holds immense power to influence and inspire. Many people draw motivation from it. In India, we produce around 1,800 to 2,000 films annually, covering all genres. While all types of films should be made, responsible cinema is thriving, and audiences are responding positively to it," he added.

Vikrant's career started in television with the show 'Dhoom Machao Dhoom', but he gained significant recognition with his role in 'Balika Vadhu' in 2009. He further rose to fame with films like 'Lootera' and his first lead role in 'A Death in the Gunj' (2017). He cemented his status as a versatile actor with notable performances in projects such as 'Broken But Beautiful', 'Ginny Weds Sunny', 'Haseen Dilruba', 'Love Hostel', and '12th Fail'.

Although he is stepping away from acting, fans can still anticipate Vikrant's final projects, scheduled for release in 2025.
