European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is set to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer next week, according to a commission spokesperson who spoke on Thursday. This meeting is part of Starmer's ongoing efforts to mend the relationship between the UK and the European Union.

"There will be a meeting between the President and Prime Minister Starmer next week," the spokesperson confirmed, though no additional details were provided. Starmer himself had previously mentioned his upcoming meeting, expressing his intentions on social media platform X.

"I want to reset our relationship with the EU and make Brexit work for the British people. Looking forward to visiting Brussels next week to start discussions with @VonderLeyen," Starmer wrote.

Since his election in July, Labour PM Starmer has been actively engaging with key European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in an effort to improve post-Brexit relations with the EU and its member states.
