It's been 31 years since the beloved cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his four-legged companion Gromit sent the nefarious Feathers McGraw to jail in Aardman's BAFTA- and Oscar-winning short film The Wrong Trousers. However, in the upcoming feature Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl—the duo's first new adventure since 2008's A Matter Of Loaf And Death—the notorious bird is back. If the new teaser is any indication, Wallace better stay on his toes.

A crime wave is sweeping across Lancashire, with fingers pointing at the 'evil inventor' Wallace, portrayed by Ben Whitehead. Gromit finds himself in mortal danger. As our feather-brained hero exclaims, 'Who could possibly be behind this?' a helmeted and net-wielding Gromit arrives at the local zoo. If you hadn't guessed already, the sight of Feathers McGraw hammering away on an organ—his beady eyes more pronounced than ever as he sips from a mug branded 'World's Best Boss'—should give you a pretty good clue.

Could the devious penguin be connected to the smart gnome, Norbot, introduced in the last trailer? And if you need a refresher on the plot, here's the official synopsis: 'Vengeance Most Fowl' sees Gromit growing increasingly concerned as Wallace becomes overly reliant on his inventions. This concern proves valid when Wallace creates a 'smart gnome' that appears to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it's up to Gromit to confront sinister forces, or Wallace may never invent again!

Joining the cast this time are Peter Kay, reprising his role as Chief Inspector Mackintosh from Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, and newcomers Lauren Patel, Reece Shearsmith, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, and Lenny Henry. Will Wallace's innocence be proven before it's too late? Will Feathers McGraw finally be put away for good? And if McGraw is 'World's Best Boss,' then who exactly is he the boss of? We'll find out when Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl premieres on Netflix on January 3rd.
