White House national security spokesman John Kirby stated that he was not informed of any prior notification from Israel to the United States regarding its strikes in Beirut on Friday. He also emphasized that Americans are strongly advised to avoid traveling to Lebanon and to depart immediately if they are already present in the country.
Kirby, addressing reporters, clarified that he could not provide comments on the recent strikes but reaffirmed that the Biden administration is actively working to prevent an escalation in the region.
