Commuters who regularly use various modes of public transport in Dubai have the opportunity to win 1 million Nol+ points as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) marks Public Transport Day on Friday, November 1.
Additionally, there are substantial cash prizes for the winners of the 'Mysterious Man Challenge' held over three days. The lucky winner on November 1 will receive a 50-gram gold bar along with a Dh10,000 cash prize.
The celebrations, which run from Monday, October 28 to Friday, November 1, include a series of activities and events. This year's Public Transport Day, observed annually on November 1, is themed 'Good for you, Great for Dubai.'
RTA will recognize the most frequent public transport users across six categories, selecting three winners from each category, who will be crowned 'Public Transport Champions.' The first-place winner will be awarded 1 million Nol+ points, the runner-up will receive 500,000 Nol+ points, and the third-place finisher will get 250,000 Nol+ points. The winners will be honored at a special ceremony.
The six categories include:

2. Most frequent user from the week of Public Transport Day 2024
3. Most frequent RTA employee user
4. Most frequent People of Determination user
5. Most frequent senior citizen user
6. Most frequent student user
One of the event's highlights is the 'Mysterious Man Challenge.' Participants must locate the 'Mysterious Man' at metro stations from Wednesday, October 30 to Friday, November 1. Each day, one winner will receive Dh10,000, with the grand prize on November 1 including an additional 50-gram gold bar.
Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Corporate Administrative Support Sector at RTA, emphasized that the theme for this year's Public Transport Day aims to inspire residents and visitors to contribute to making Dubai the best city in the world by choosing RTA's public transport services, which include the metro, tram, public buses, marine transport, and other soft mobility options like bicycles, e-scooters, and walking to reach public transport stations and stops across the city.
