After hinting at their upcoming collaboration late last year, Wizards Of The Coast and Marvel have officially unveiled the initial phase of Marvel's integration into Magic: The Gathering. During a panel at New York Comic Con, the two companies announced five Secret Lair drops, each dedicated to a different Marvel superhero, available starting November 4 on the Secret Lair website. Each drop includes five cards: one mechanically unique legendary creature card and four reprints from Magic's history. The legendary creature card features one of the five heroes—Captain America, Black Panther, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Storm—while the reprints showcase new artwork of the respective hero. The drops are priced at $40 for non-foil and $50 for rainbow-foil versions. Customers spending $199 or more will receive a special reprint of Arcane Signet called Earth's Mightiest Emblem, featuring Avengers Tower in the artwork. Wizards Of The Coast has confirmed that the Marvel superdrop is a limited-time offer with specific quantities, unlike the recent Extra Life 2024 edition which was print-to-demand. Additionally, the partnership's first major set will be themed around Marvel's Spider-Man and is set to launch in 2025. No further details about the Spider-Man set were disclosed during the panel.

The complete list of cards included in the Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Superdrop is as follows:

Recent collaborations for Magic: The Gathering include partnerships with Hatsune Miku, Fallout, and Doctor Who, with a collaboration with Final Fantasy scheduled for 2025.
