World of Warcraft: The War Within's upcoming content update has been revealed, featuring a brand new zone to explore, which is typically reserved for major raid tier patches. Additionally, it will introduce a mount that was first teased over a decade ago. Update 11.0.7 will transport players to the Siren Isle, where an expedition is in progress to investigate a mysterious signal and uncover what happened to the Kul Tiran forces that once inhabited the island.

The update will include two new questlines that will further the story of The War Within. One questline will deal with the aftermath of Dalaran's destruction and the mages of the Kirin Tor, while the other serves as a prologue to the game's 11.1 update, hinting at the return of a "familiar face." The Siren Isle appears to mirror Dragonflight's 10.0.7 update, which also introduced a new endgame zone, repurposing the Dracthyr starting zone.

Similar to the Forbidden Reach, players will obtain a powerful ring as part of the Siren Isle questline, which can be equipped with special gems offering unique powers. Blizzard stated that the ring will provide players with "an edge" on the Siren Isle and remain "fairly" strong into the game's next season. Perhaps the most intriguing addition is the Stormcrow mount, which was originally teased in the 2014 Warlords of Draenor expansion but never officially added to the game.

The Stormcrow mount, now officially named Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren, will be accompanied by other earnable mounts and transmog appearances that were unused from previous years. In a preview video, Blizzard expressed excitement about finally bringing this old, unused content to players, stating, "they've seen them in the files long enough." Other features in patch 11.0.7 include new Arathi elf-ear customization options for human and Kul Tiran characters, and the return of Plunderstorm, WoW's battle royale mode, which will be available for a limited time in early 2025.

Blizzard has not specified an exact release date for the Siren Isles update, but it will be available for testing on the game's public test realm servers starting October 31. In the meantime, players can enjoy the game's 20th anniversary update, where they can earn updated versions of some of WoW's most iconic armor sets and other unique rewards.
