This week's Xbox Partner Preview brought an extended first look at Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a Soulslike game drawing comparisons to Black Myth: Wukong. Set near the end of the Ming dynasty in China, the newly released trailer hints at a greater role for myth and magic over historical accuracy. The video showcases the powers players will wield.

Wuchang, the game's protagonist, is seen primarily using a sword. However, the trailer also reveals her ability to fire projectile weapons and employ magic-based attacks with her staff. The trailer's limited dialogue leaves Wuchang's personality ambiguous, with only her unnamed enemy speaking, voicing a desire for revenge against the fallen Ming empire. Wuchang stands as the barrier between this enemy and his objective.

Set against the backdrop of Wuchang's battles with god-like beings, the land of Shu suffers from a plague known as feathering, causing mutations. In Wuchang's hands, these mutations can unlock new powers or transform her into something beyond human. Despite her already formidable abilities, these transformations may be crucial for upcoming boss fights.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Additionally, 505 Games and Microsoft have confirmed that the game will be available on Game Pass from its release day.
