Wynn Al Marjan Island, the pioneering integrated gaming resort in the Middle East North Africa (Mena) region, has the potential to rank as the world's fourth major gaming market, according to Max Tappeiner, the newly appointed president of Wynn Resort Al Marjan. Tappeiner made this assertion during the 'Future of Ras Al Khaimah Conference' on Friday.
The $2 billion project, which is poised to redefine luxury and entertainment both in the UAE and globally, is scheduled to open its doors in the first quarter of 2027. This will mark Wynn Resorts' inaugural gaming destination in the UAE, signifying a pivotal moment for Ras Al Khaimah.
"With Al Marjan, we are thrilled about this opportunity," Tappeiner stated, adding, "Currently, there are only three major gaming markets worldwide, and we believe this could become the fourth." He showcased images of the ongoing construction, detailing the unique amenities that will distinguish Wynn Al Marjan Island from other resorts. The construction is proceeding as planned, with the resort set to welcome guests in early 2027.
The RAK resort will boast luxury suites, a substantial casino, and a variety of entertainment offerings, including high-end restaurants, bars, a spa, and a beachfront day club. Additionally, it will feature a significant conference center tailored for weddings and corporate events, attracting both leisure and business travelers.
Tappeiner emphasized Wynn Resorts' robust global performance, highlighting their status as top revenue generators and highly rated five-star operators. He also underscored the strategic location of Wynn Al Marjan Island, which enables it to cater to a vast demographic. "With the launch of Wynn Al Marjan, we will be able to reach 96% of the global population within an eight-hour flight," he explained, noting that 76% of the world's population will be within that range from Al Marjan itself.
He further added that the area boasts high spending potential and a concentration of wealth, laying a strong foundation for the resort's success.
"It takes a truly exceptional individual to construct a building of this caliber, someone who is dedicated to the absolute best and will not compromise on their vision. We are committed to driving this asset forward as swiftly as possible to ensure we realize the vision," Tappeiner emphasized.
