Nick Pickles, the global affairs head at X, announced on Thursday that he is stepping down after ten years with the social media company, formerly known as Twitter. Pickles, who joined the company in 2014, revealed that he had made the decision to leave X several months ago and has been collaborating with CEO Linda Yaccarino during the transition period.

"After more than ten years, tomorrow will be my last day at X. It's been an incredible journey," he stated. The reasons behind his departure and his future plans remain undisclosed at this time. X, owned by Elon Musk, and Nick Pickles did not promptly respond to Reuters' inquiries for comment outside of regular business hours.

In June, X's head of business operations, Joe Benarroch, also left the company, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the situation. Pickles began his career at X as a senior manager in their London office and was appointed Vice President of Global Affairs in 2023, following various roles within the organization, as indicated by his LinkedIn profile.

The Financial Times reported that Pickles served as the company's spokesperson in conflicts with multiple governments, including Brazil, which recently suspended access to the social network. The suspension was triggered by X's failure to meet a court-imposed deadline to appoint a legal representative in Brazil. Musk has criticized Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes for enforcing what he considers unjustified censorship, while the judge maintains that X requires regulations to combat hate speech.
