On Friday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a yellow alert for rough seas and strong northwesterly winds, with speeds reaching up to 40 km/h. The NCM warned that the sea conditions will be rough, with waves as high as 6 feet in the Oman Sea, lasting until 6 a.m. on Saturday, November 30.
Additionally, the weather department highlighted that the Arabian Gulf will experience rough seas with waves reaching 10 feet, effective until 7 a.m. on Sunday, December 1. An orange alert signifies the need for heightened vigilance and adherence to the advisories provided by the authorities.
Residents in the UAE should anticipate partly cloudy weather today, which may occasionally turn dusty. Moderate to fresh winds, occasionally strong, particularly over the sea, will stir up dust and sand, potentially reducing horizontal visibility. Earlier forecasts from the NCM cautioned residents about impending dust storms and rainfall, starting from today and continuing through Friday.
Today, low clouds are expected to form over certain areas, accompanied by a notable drop in temperatures. In Abu Dhabi, temperatures could dip as low as 17ºC, while in Fujairah, they may rise to a high of 31ºC.
The sea conditions are predicted to be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea.
