Yemenia Airways is set to restart commercial flights from Sanaa to Egypt and India, according to the state news agency SABA on Sunday. This move comes as part of an agreement between the conflicting factions in Yemen's ongoing civil war. The flight to Egypt, initially scheduled for Sunday, has been rescheduled to Tuesday. Meanwhile, flights to India are resuming on the same day. Daily return flights to Cairo are planned, with twice-weekly services to India. This resumption follows an agreement between Yemen's warring sides, which was announced by the U.S. envoy for Yemen last week. The route between Sanaa and Cairo has been inactive since the end of 2016. The civil war in Yemen began in 2014 when Houthi rebels took control of Sanaa. The Houthis have since dominated much of the north and other significant population centers, while the internationally recognized government, supported by Saudi Arabia, operates from the port city of Aden.
