President Volodymyr Zelensky commended the Ukrainian army on Thursday for its knack "to surprise" and attain outcomes, refraining from any explicit mention of the circumstances in a Russian territory where Moscow alleges Kyiv has initiated a cross-border attack.

The Ukrainian military seems to have embraced a policy of rigorous silence at present regarding operations in Russia's Kursk region, where Moscow claims Kyiv's forces have been active since Tuesday.

"Everyone can observe that the Ukrainian army is adept at surprising. And is proficient at achieving results," Zelensky stated at a ceremony unveiling a new digital application designed to streamline military paperwork.

"This is evidenced by the battlefield, where our troops not only resisted the overpowering strength of the invaders but are also dismantling it in the manner essential to safeguard Ukraine — our nation and sovereignty," he explained in a video from the event shared on Telegram messenger.
