Boston never loses its charm — especially for Zendaya. The 28-year-old Emmy winner has been soaking up the Beantown vibes while filming her new movie “The Drama” with Robert Pattinson. Despite being one of Hollywood's most famous faces, a local news station stumbled upon Zendaya and her mom enjoying a casual day out without realizing who they were. On Sunday, Dec. 1, Boston’s WCVB Channel 5 aired footage from the city’s holiday festivities on Newbury St., capturing Zendaya and her mom, Claire Stoermer, seemingly unnoticed by the news crew, as reported by TikTok user @chlomance.

The station later replayed the clip on Monday, Dec. 2, showing two young girls clearly starstruck as the “Euphoria” star and her mother strolled by, with the subtitle “star-studded stroll.” “WCVB Channel 5 shooting b-roll and not clocking they got Zendaya,” @chlomance captioned the footage from Sunday’s broadcast, adding two cry-laughing emojis. Social media reactions were swift, with many finding the oversight hilarious.

The b-roll blunder gained attention when even WCVB reporter Matt Reed commented on the viral clip, saying, “Thanks for letting us know!” Zendaya has been in Boston for several months, filming the American romance with Pattinson. On Nov. 19, the pair were spotted on set in Andover, Massachusetts. Zendaya’s mom, a school teacher and jewelry line owner, filed for divorce from the actress’ father in 2016. Zendaya, their only child together, has five older step-siblings from her dad’s previous marriage.

Zendaya’s loved ones have also been visiting her in Boston. Her boyfriend, Tom Holland, was in the city on Nov. 8, sharing rare photos from a date night at Foxhole in Newbury St. Zendaya and Pattinson were confirmed as co-stars for the upcoming film in August. The movie, which follows a couple whose romance takes a dramatic turn before their big day, is yet to set a release date.
