The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has inaugurated a new food packaging centre designed to provide employment opportunities for people of determination. This initiative, located in Al Bahia and in collaboration with Fresh on Table, aims to offer permanent job positions and foster professional growth for these individuals.
The centre will specialize in the collection, packaging, storage, and distribution of a diverse range of food products, including fruits, vegetables, dairy, poultry, fish, honey, and animal products. Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, underscored the significance of this partnership with Fresh on Table in promoting the Foundation’s organic food products while simultaneously enhancing the skills and employment prospects of people of determination.
Al Humaidan also highlighted the centre’s role in improving the professional capabilities of its employees through targeted rehabilitation programs, preparing them for broader participation in the workforce. He further emphasized ZHO’s dedication to fostering private sector collaborations, urging businesses across various sectors to support and employ people of determination. Additionally, he commended Fresh on Table’s efforts in promoting local farming and sustainability, contributing to the UAE’s food security and reducing carbon footprints by maintaining a close link between production and consumption.
Atul Chopra, Founder and CEO of Fresh on Table, expressed his pride in the partnership with ZHO, viewing it as a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. He stated, "This partnership underscores our profound dedication to sustainability, aiming to inspire significant and meaningful change for People of Determination within our Emirati community. We anticipate future projects led by People of Determination and take pride in our commitment to transparency. Through our platform, we strive to empower our HORECA partners to make informed environmental decisions and support local agriculture."
Fresh on Table, an agtech platform focused on local farms and sustainability, works to minimize the carbon footprint by ensuring a close connection between food production and consumption. By linking local farms with the HORECA sector, Fresh on Table facilitates the direct delivery of fresh, locally grown ingredients from farm to table, supporting both food security and environmental sustainability.
