A new initiative at Al Dhaid University is set to concentrate on harvesting honey from olive trees, renowned for their complete absence of pesticides. This was disclosed during the 'Direct Line' program on Sharjah Radio and Television.
Alongside the honey venture, the university plans to establish vegetable and fruit plantations, as well as farms for cattle and poultry, and a fresh veterinary college. The college will manage a grazing project focused on enhancing and advancing sheep breeds for milk and meat.
Earlier this year, Sheikh Dr Sultan declared the formation of Al Dhaid University, which specializes in agriculture, environment, food, and livestock. Multiple projects in Sharjah, such as the wheat farm, the Seven Sanabel project, the vegetable farm, and the dairy farm, will bolster the university's scientific objectives. The university also features a seed bank and various other facilities, centers, and laboratories.
