Anna Kendrick, best known for her on-screen roles in Pitch Perfect, A Simple Favour, Twilight, and more, is now stepping behind the camera with Woman Of The Hour. She not only stars but also directs this new Netflix drama, which is based on the true story of a woman who sought love on a 1970s TV show and found herself in grave danger from her suitor.

The new trailer, though brief, effectively captures the unease experienced by Kendrick's character, aspiring actress Cheryl, during a date with Daniel Zovatto's Rodney Alcala, whom she met on a Blind Date-style program. When Cheryl says something Rodney disapproves of, the atmosphere shifts; he requests another round, while Cheryl attempts to signal her discomfort to the waitress; outside, he corners her to get her number. This chilling teaser offers a glimpse of the full film, which is based on serial killer Alcala's appearance on The Dating Game during his murder spree and marks Kendrick's directorial debut.

Written by Ian McDonald, the film also features Tony Hale, Jedidiah Goodacre, Kelly Jake, and Max Lloyd-Jones. Woman Of The Hour will be streaming on Netflix from October 18.
