Apple has rolled out significant security updates for its devices, tackling various vulnerabilities affecting iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS devices.

The UAE Cyber Security Council has advised residents with Apple devices to install these updates from the tech giant and share this information with other users.

iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 have been released for the newest iPhone and iPad models, addressing 35 security issues that could result in authentication and policy bypasses, unintended application shutdowns or system crashes, data exposure, denial-of-service (DoS), and memory leaks. Apple addressed these issues by implementing additional restrictions, user prompts, and enhancements in checks, data protection, state management, and validation. Many of these fixes are also included in the iOS 16.7.9 and iPadOS 16.7.9 updates, which are being rolled out for older iPhone and iPad devices.

In a statement, the company noted: 'For the protection of our customers, Apple does not disclose, discuss, or confirm security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are generally available.'
