Flashbang grenades are designed to disorient enemies. However, players of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have found that using them to blind teammates can earn you 15 XP. This tactic, known as XP farming, promotes poor teamwork. YouTube streamer Expel shared a video of this exploit on X, noting that throwing flashbangs at allies "gives you XP" and "do with this information what you will." The on-screen UI text reads "Flashed Enemy," suggesting this is an unintended advantage for being a disruptive teammate.
Progression and prestige grinding are fundamental aspects of Black Ops 6, alongside the rewards and unlockables in multiplayer. Consequently, there will always be players seeking shortcuts to level up. For example, the original Destiny had a loot cave exploit a decade ago, where players endlessly shot into a cavern. That exploit was eventually addressed, leading to an in-game dungeon that acknowledged the loot cave. Black Ops 6 launched a week ago and achieved a record-setting debut. The latest entry in the FPS franchise boasted the "biggest" three-day opening weekend in terms of total players, hours played, and total matches. The launch of Black Ops 6 also resulted in a "bonkers" day of engagement for Call of Duty HQ, the app housing the game along with Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. Over half of all Xbox Series X|S owners and over a third of all PS5 owners checked out Call of Duty HQ on October 28.
Today, the iconic Nuketown multiplayer map makes its debut in Black Ops 6. This is the original arena from Black Ops set in the 1950s, rather than a new variation. Looking ahead, Black Ops 6 Season 1 is confirmed to start on November 14.
