An Indian Airlines flight from Kathmandu to New Delhi faced a bomb threat on Saturday, according to officials from Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority. A thorough search is currently being conducted on the aircraft, which was scheduled to depart for Delhi from Kathmandu.

This incident follows another bomb hoax call received by Nepal on Monday, involving an Air India flight AI 216 that was set to return to New Delhi. This marks the second hoax call received by Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport within a week, as confirmed by officials.

The Air India flight, which landed at 2.41pm (Nepal Standard Time) on Monday afternoon, triggered an emergency protocol after receiving a bomb threat. "We did not find any suspicious or explosive material on board the plane. It is now preparing to take off following standard procedures," stated Kiran Bajracharya, AIG at Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari.

The Nepal Army bomb squad, along with the Nepal Police Canine division, swiftly responded to trace any possible explosives on the plane at a secluded area of the airport. After an extensive four-hour search, no suspicious objects were found, confirming the warning as a hoax call.

Last week, a similar bomb scare occurred on a Vistara Airways flight from Delhi, but no suspicious objects were discovered. Recently, repeated false threats on Indian flights have instilled fear among passengers.
