Renowned 'Born in the USA' singer Bruce Springsteen has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president, joining a growing list of celebrities supporting the Democratic nominee. Springsteen shared his endorsement in a video posted on Instagram.

“Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great nation felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does now,” Springsteen stated in the video, filmed inside a diner. “It doesn’t have to be this way.” He continued, “Donald Trump is the most dangerous presidential candidate in my lifetime. His contempt for the sanctity of our Constitution, democracy, the rule of law, and the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from ever holding the office of president again. He fails to grasp the essence of this country, its history, or what it truly means to be an American.”

Springsteen emphasized that Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, “are dedicated to a vision of America that values and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, political views, or sexual identity. They aim to expand the economy in a manner that benefits all, not just a select few like me. Above all, this is the vision of America I’ve consistently written about for 55 years.” He concluded, “Now, everyone sees things differently, and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen. But like you, I have only one vote, and it’s one of the most precious possessions I have. That’s why on Nov. 5, I’ll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Thanks for listening.”

Springsteen’s endorsement comes as no surprise, as he was a vocal supporter of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016 during her campaign against Trump. He now stands alongside celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Oprah, Sigourney Weaver, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, George Clooney, Beyoncé, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan, all of whom have shown their support for Harris.
